???? Open To: Ages 10-21
Young Change Agents is hosting a national Youth Design Challenge aimed at empowering Australians aged 10–21 to reimagine the future of regional communities by the year 2035. Running from January to July 2025, this challenge invites young participants to explore problems unique to regional Australia and propose innovative solutions that address one of six key themes: Connection, Resilience, Career Opportunities, Health, Food Growth and Production, and First Nations.
Through a structured design process, participants are encouraged to research local issues, define a problem, brainstorm ideas, and develop testable solutions. Educators and parents can access a comprehensive suite of resources—including lesson guides, activity sheets, and submission details—to support students in formulating their projects. Submissions will be judged on creativity, impact, and viability, with finalists gaining the chance to secure further support to develop and implement their solutions.
This challenge highlights the resilience, resourcefulness, and community spirit that characterises regional youth. By nurturing critical thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset, Young Change Agents hopes to inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers dedicated to improving the quality of life in Australia’s diverse regional areas.
