The Mental Health and Wellbeing Youth Design Challenge is available for young people aged 10-21 across Australia from July to December 2024. The challenge focuses on addressing mental health issues by encouraging participants to develop solutions that create a generation of resilient young people who proactively build positive mental health. It aims to increase understanding of mental health, expand opportunities for youth support, and explore ways to foster meaningful connections and develop technology-driven solutions.
Participants are invited to choose from five key themes: connection, stress, happiness, healthy relationships, and habits and rituals. The goal is to ideate solutions that address issues like loneliness, stress reduction, and fostering healthy relationships both in person and online. The challenge highlights the importance of recognizing mental health as a spectrum, with individuals moving along it based on their experiences over time.
Upon registering, participants can access all resources needed to complete the challenge. Ideas submitted will automatically enter the competition, with future opportunities available to further support these ideas. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Youth Design Challenge is delivered in partnership with batyr, a leading organization supporting youth mental health.
