UNIHACK 2025 returns for a weekend of creativity, innovation, and collaboration, bringing together university students to build, design, and prototype groundbreaking solutions. As the Imagination Hackathon, there is no set theme or prompt—teams are free to explore any idea and develop a working prototype over the course of the event.
The competition begins with an opening ceremony, followed by team formation and the official start of hacking. Participants will work intensively throughout the weekend, with key deadlines for team registration, checkpoints, and final submissions. Projects will be judged based on polish, design, execution, technical difficulty, originality, and overall impact.
This year’s winners will be announced on March 24, with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place, as well as special categories including best design, most creative idea, best first-time team, and the most entertaining pitch. Sponsor challenges and additional prizes will also be available for projects that incorporate specific technologies or address social impact issues.
UNIHACK 2025 will take place both in Melbourne at Monash University Clayton and in Sydney at UNSW Kensington, providing students from multiple locations the opportunity to participate in person. Registration is free, and participants can access additional resources, including a participant handbook and submission guidelines, through the event’s official platforms.
