Pinch Payments Hackathon is a national build sprint inviting developers, designers, product managers, founders, students and solo builders to create practical solutions that make getting paid easier. Participants will use real Australian payments infrastructure from Pinch, including API access, billing automation, payment workflows and sandbox support, to build a working product that solves a real business problem.

Running across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and online, the hackathon is free to enter and open to teams across Australia. Participants can bring their own team or join the team formation process, then build during the sprint with support from Pinch developers and mentors from The Founders Union. Finalists will pitch live on Demo Night for the chance to win a $50,000 cash prize, with the runner-up receiving $25,000 in free payment processing through Pinch.

Applications close on 22 July 2026, with the hackathon starting on 24 July and final submissions due on 31 July. Finalists will be announced on 3 August before the Demo and Pitch Night on 10 August. In-person hub spots are limited, with virtual participation available for builders anywhere in Australia.
